HOW MUCH ARE TICKETS?
Hot Fishin’ Points is a just-for-fun event where you can track your season and how you compare against other anglers in your match standard, region, and fisheries you compete at.
HOW DOES THE SCORING WORK?
Matches with 15+ Anglers get 10 points for the win, down to 1 point for the 10th position. Anglers also get an ‘additional’ 5% points bonus proportional to the number of competitors in their match to credit winning in a larger competition.
HOW DOES THE 5% POINTS BONUS WORK?
Anglers get an ‘additional’ 5% points bonus proportional to the number of competitors in their match.
For example, if a match has a hundred anglers, then 5% of a hundred is five. So winning that match would give you ten points for the win plus five additional bonus points, so fifteen overall.
HOW ARE SMALL MATCHES SCORED?
Matches with 10 – 14 Anglers get 8 points for the win, and custom top placements receive points:
– If 10 anglers are in the match, the top 4 receive points
– If 11 anglers are in the match, the top 5 receive points
– If 12 anglers are in the match, the top 6 receive points
– If 13 anglers are in the match, the top 7 receive points
– If 14 anglers’ are in the match, the top 8 receive points
WHAT HAPPENS IF I COMPETE IN MULTIPLE MATCHES PER WEEK?
If an angler competes in several matches during one week only the best match result will count and display in the results table. This is to ensure fairness for those anglers who can only fish once per week.
We then take only the best 10 sessions out of the 13 weeks, meaning you don’t have to fish every single week to compete.
WHAT IS A CLUB MATCH?
To be classified as a club match organiser, your club needs to charge a membership fee and needs to run matches at more than one different fishery across the season. Different waters at the same fishery do not count.
If your club has matches at only one fishery and it is not an official club water, then those matches will be classed as open matches.
HOW LONG IS A SEASON?
A new season starts every Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. Each tournament will run for 13 weeks and use the best ten-match results from the angler’s competitions.
DOES A DID NOT WEIGH GET POINTS?
No. Anglers must have weighed something to be eligible for points. A DNW does not get points.
WHEN ARE THE POINTS RECALCULATED?
The league table is updated every Wednesday for the previous week to give organisers time to upload results after the weekend. If you have a free claimed angler account you will get an email of your results.
WHO SUBMITS THE MATCH RESULS?
Your organiser must score the match using the free Hot Fishin’ platform for your results to be eligible for points. They can create an account here.
It is the job of the match organiser not Hot Fishin’, to upload match results to the platform after matches
WHEN DO MATCH RESULTS HAVE TO BE SUBMITTED?
The deadline date for submitting match results is midnight, three weeks after the Sunday following the match. This is to give organisers time to record, publish, verify and finalise their match results.

HOW DOES THE SCORING WORK?
The maximum points an angler can get is related to how many are in the match. So if it is a 15 peg match, it would be 15 points for the win, down to 1 point for 15th place regardless of weight. If there were 20 in the match, 20 points for the win and so on. This way anglers can get points for every single match.
WHAT MATCHES QUALIFY FOR POINTS?
It can be a junior, adult, club, open, weekday or weekend match.
HOW MANY MATCHES CAN YOU COMPETE IN EACH WEEK?
All matches count during the week, even if more than one is competed in.
WHAT HAPPENS IF THERE IS A TIE ON POINTS?
After the 13-week season is complete, if there is a tie on points, it will go down to how many first places each angler achieved, then second and so on.
